ROLE
ALL HANDS ON DECK!
A member of Bank Staff work different hours each week set by the management team between the hours of 7.30-6.30pm. It is a flexible role and the staff will gain experience in all age groups.
They will work as part of a dedicated team caring for children aged 3 months to 5 years and will be required to support the nursery staff in any way they can; whilst following the Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements and policies and procedures of the nursery.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Safeguarding
-
To advise Manager/SENCO of any concerns, e.g over children, parents, the safety of the environment, preserving confidentiality as necessary

To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is required as part of the job

To promote fairness and equality in the workplace

To have awareness of the “British values”
Health and Safety

To use the nursery equipment effectively considering the health and safety requirements

To report any broken equipment to the room leader
-
To be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snacks, meals, cleansing of equipment, etc
Partnerships

To be polite and considerate to co-workers to ensure a happy working environment

To be polite to the parents, and to listen to them with interest, being sure to pass them onto the qualified staff if they have any queries

To work alongside the qualified staff to provide the highest quality childcare
Professional Development

To attend courses to extend on skills and knowledge and to keep up with the changes in legislation

To attend 3 core courses (1st Aid, Safeguarding, food safety)

To be willing to undertake training courses to increase skills and awareness
-
To involve yourself in nursery projects using a variety of nursery resources

To attend and contribute to the staff meetings, which are held monthly, outside, work hours

To assist in the day to day operations in accordance with Step By Step rules, policies and procedures
Record Keeping

To contribute to observations and planning with the practitioners in each of the rooms
Additional Points

To work hours as set by the management, on the understanding that these may be subject to change at short notice if the nursery requires

To work in any room within the nursery, as decided by the management team
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-
Excellent knowledge of the EYFS
-
Strong people management skills
-
Good time management skills
-
Excellent organisational skills
-
CACHE level 3, NNEB, NVQ Level 3 essential
